When we are using CSS @font-face for WordPress, we usually don’t get the desired result that we may be expecting while we are using Mozilla Firefox.
Firefox 3.5 supported TrueType and OpenType fonts. In Firefox 3.6 support for a new font format – the Web Open Font Format, or WOFF is been added. You can use this font format to work for WordPress if you are using Firefox.
You can convert you fonts to woff format from http://www.fontsquirrel.com/fontface/generator
After you get your font coverted use the following code to import your fonts for all browsers.

Recently I came upon a problem, which you guys must have already faced with is embedding a flash movie on to your site while supporting the web standards. While validating the site I got 7 validation errors and all of them was because I had embedded a Flash Movie to my site.
While searching for the fix, I came on to http://www.alistapart.com/articles/flashsatay/ whose solution really worked fine for me and I am really thankful to them. The solution is real easy and you can try for yourself following the steps mentioned below.
- First of all create a container flash file, exactly of the same height and width for the movie file you want to embed on your site. For example, if you want to embed a flash banner to your site and its width is 400px and height is 250px, your container movie’s width and height would be of 400px and 250px, respectively.Name the file c.fla. You can name it something else too; just for my convenience I am naming it c.fla
- on the first frame of the movie c.fla, write a script for calling your flash movie on to it, which will be something like the below:
_root.loadMovie(“banner.swf”, “0″);
where banner.swf is your flash movie that you want to embed on your site.
- Now publish your container movie which in my case will be c.swf
- Now search for your flash embedded code that will be similar to the following:

- Now you are ready to publish your site. Save the file and upload it along with the container movie that you created, in this case c.swf
- Check for validation.
First of all login to Yahoo. If you don’t have a Yahoo ID, create one at Yahoo. After you login to your account goto http://developer.yahoo.com/ and follow the following steps-
- After you login and goto http://developer.yahoo.com/ you will land on the following page-
- Click the second option saying “BUILD Get an API Key…”
- You will be taken to the Yahoo Terms & Conditions page. Click accept
- On accepting you will be directed to a page where you need to create a New Project
- Then a popup will appear where you need to select the option saying “Contacts, MyBloLog, Social Directory, Status Updates, Wretch…”
- Then you will land to a page where you need to fill in all the details for your yahoo Application and then click Generate API Key
- Thereafter you will be taken to the final page saying “Your API Key has been approved” where you will find the API Key, Shared Secret and Application ID

First of all to get an API Key for middleware from Linkedin, you must first have an account with Linkedin. If you don’t have an account you can create one at https://www.linkedin.com. Then fill up your account details to become a member. Thereafter follow the following steps to generate your API key-
- Login to your Linkedin account and go the https://www.linkedin.com/secure/developer to create a middleware application.
- Click the Add New Application link
- You will be lead to the following page:
Fill in all the required details necessary and then save. - You will be lead to the following page displaying the message that you have successfully created your application with all the informations required, i.e. your API key and your Secret Key, and you are done.

Follow the following steps to install Twitter Connect to your Blog:
- 1st of all you need to have an account with Twitter. If you don’t have one create it. Then go to the profile page and complete all the details required. If you already have an account with Twitter then you can straight away go to the next step.
- After you login into your account go to “Settings”.
- Go to “Connections” and under Developers section click for new applications or edit application.
- A page with title Applications Using Twitter will open with a link “Register a new application”. Click it.
- Then the “Register an Application” page will open where you need to provide all the informations required. Give a name to your application, a small description. The URL of the website where the application is to be installed where the users can use it. The website of your organisation or company. Choose “Browser” for Application Type. Mention the callback url. It will be the same as where you want to install that is your blogs url.For “Default Access Type” choose “Read & Write Mode”. You may check “Use Twitter Login”. This will enable you to login to your blog directly using user id and password of Twitter account. Then save.
- Then you will be lead to your applications page where you will find certain informations regarding your application. Copy the Consumer Key & Consumer Secret.
- Then login in into your blog control panel and in the “Plugins” section click on “Add New”.
- Search for “Simple Twitter Connect” and install it. Then follow to its settings page.
- In the settings apply the Consumer Key & Consumer Secret that you copied from Twitter Application page.
- Activate all the pulgins in the “Installed Plugins” page which appeared after installing Simple Twitter Connect.
- Then under the “Appearance” go to “Editor” in the control panel. Then choose the “Comments” editor or any other page where you want the Twitter button to come from the right hand list and paste the following code:
